Results of Regional 1-AA Golf Tournament/State Bound Player
The MHS golf teams competed at the Region 1-AA golf tournament this week and did a great job. Eli Leal and Conner Harrison played Monday and Tuesday and ended up tied for 38th place out of 96 competitors. The girl's team ended with 7th place as a team out of 16. Lariat Adams won the silver medal as the 2nd place finisher with scores of 79-72 form a total of 156. She will compete at the State Class AA golf tournament April 30- May 1 In Austin. Other scores included Miranda deBruin 114-102 /216, Sadie Sudduth 103-103/206, Sydnie Sudduth 114-105/ 219, and Bailey Bales 120-112/ 232.

Arts and Garden Center Exhibit
The Art Students that will be in Exhibit at the Garden and Arts Center in Lubbock. The theme is" Floral Inspirations". The art wiork is displayed at First Friday Art Trial from March 7th to the end of the month. 2014 State Youth Art Month Exhibit
Allegra Mora’s art work was selected, from K -12 students throughout the state, for the 2014 State Youth Art Month Exhibit in Austin. Entries throughout the state were received and a panel of jurors selected art work to be exhibited for the Capital Exhibit. The Capital Exhibit will be on display at the State Capital March 1s to 7th. March 8th through March 24th the Youth Art Month Show moves to the Bullock Texas State History Museum. Youth Art Month celebration Awards and Reception were held Sunday, March 9th at the Bullock Texas State History Museum.

Mules Baseball Update
This weekend the baseball program played 3 games on Saturday.
The Varsity Team got their first District Win, We beat Tulia 4-3. We
made some amazing plays and fought hard all day. We had two young men pitch well
to secure the win, Wesley Clarkson and Nacho Elizalde. If you see any of these
young men please let them know they did a great job. Our Record is now 8-6
overall , 1-1 district.
Jv Black Team got a win against a good Sundown Team 12-6. We had a great
pitching performance from Reese Orozco for the win and a great save by Blake
Parker. Our bats were smashing the ball all day.
The Jv White Team lost to Littlefield Jv 19-4 in a non-district game.
We had several runners on we just couldn't get them across. We had several play
in this game that had been there since the varsity game at noon. This brings the
JV overall record to 8-5 and 1-0 in District.
These young men travel to Littlefield tomorrow in a district game. The
Jv Black Team will play at 4:30 and Varsity to follow at 7.
Mules and Lady Mules Golf
The MHS golf teams competed the last 2 days at the Friona Invitational. The girls team played Tuesday in that horrible sandstorm but they hung in there and played hard. The team finished 2nd and Lariat Adams was the individual medalist.
Lariat Adams 88, Sydnie Sudduth 105, Sadie Sudduth 106, Miranda deBruin 110, Emily Precure 136. The boys team played today and finished 4th in the team competition.Eli Leal made it a sweep of the individual gold medals for MHS with an all time personal best score of 76.

Muleshoe Basketball Camp
The Muleshoe Basketball Camp (for boys) will begin Tuesday, June 3rd and end Friday, June 6th. The camp, which is for boys entering grades 3-9, will be held in the morning on these days at the high school gym. Specific times will be announced at a later date.
Lady Mules win Tullia Golf Tournament
The MHS Lady Mules opened their season today at the Tulia Invitational and were the team champions. There were 8 teams and 60 golfers competing. Lariat Adams was the individual winner with a score of 80. Team members include: Lariat Adams

Muleshoe High School was awarded the Bronze Award for one of America's Best High Schools by U. S. News and World Report for the 2013 school year. Muleshoe High School also received the prestigious award in 2012.

Congrats to Austin Ross for making the AP All State football team as 1st team punter, Honorable Mention receiver, and Honorable Mention secondary.
Dustin Smith also made Honorable Mention offensive lineman.
Texas All State Treble Choir
On January 11, 2014, Kari Mendoza traveled to Abilene to compete in the final round for a position in the TMEA Texas All State Choir. Thousands of students across the state of Texas began this process in September. Top auditioning students made it through to the Area round auditions on January 11th. Kari earned 4th chair in the Texas All State Treble Choir and will be performing in concert with them in February. Because of her hard work, dedication to excellence, and perseverance, she earned her position in this prestigious ensemble. Congratulations to Kari for making MISD history!
